Welcome to the 13th International Festival Luci della Ribalta, organized by the Associazione Mozart Italia sede di Terni, affiliated with the prestigious International Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg, in collaboration with the Municipality of Narni and with the support of the Carit Foundation.
I am really pleased to announce that the Festival Luci della Ribalta will take place from August 17 to 27, 2023. More than 20 events are confirmed including concerts, improvisations and tastings, in the most picturesque places in the municipalities of Narni and Terni, involving many internationally renowned artists and from all over the world.
The festival will open its doors on Thursday, August 17, with a solo piano recital together with Alessandro Viale, and then host you at the Inaugural Concert will take place on Friday, August 18, at 9 p.m. at San Domenico Auditorium Bortolotti, and will feature outstanding musicians including Aron Chiesa, Carlo Parazzoli, Elia Chiesa, Martina Santarone, Emanuele Ruggero, Vladimir Bogdanovič and David Eggert. For the occasion we are also planning an inaugural toast with a tasting of fine wines from Tenuta Cavalier Mazzocchi 1919.
Another must-see event will be Monday, August 21, with The Return of the Harmonic Festival, featuring artists such as Niklas Walentin and Patrick Jüdt, as well as a cello ensemble directed by Sandra Belić. During the evening, you can also hear the orchestra of the International Festival Luci della Ribalta conducted by Alessandro Viale, with the special participation of Debanshu Sen on Santoor, by virtue of our collaboration with the Michael Makhal Symphony Orchestra. The following day, Tuesday, August 22, we invite you to the enchanting energy released on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of the birth of J. Brahms, together with Katarina Vasilievič, David Eggert and Nataša Šarčević.
We are also pleased to announce the date of Wednesday, August 23, when we will return to the wonderful Palazzo Pressio Colonnese in Terni which, thanks to the kind hospitality of Emilia Riffelli Bartolucci, will be enlivened by the notes of Salvatore Vella, Calogero Palermo, Andrea Cellacchi, Niklas Walentin, David Eggert and Michelangelo Carbonara. The evening will be accompanied by a guided tasting of fine wines with winemaker Maurizio Mazzocchi of Tenuta Cavalier Mazzocchi 1919. Reservations are required to attend the event.
On Thursday, August 24 from 9 p.m., we look forward to seeing you at the Grand Galà. As per our tradition, this is a musical parade in which singers, soloists and ensembles of the highest profile will perform, as well as the orchestra of the International Festival Luci della Ribalta. A very evocative moment will also be the chamber concert on Friday, August 25, in memory of Maestro Renato Chiesa, the creator and promoter of this festival, who died prematurely 10 years ago.
Other highlights will be held on Saturday, August 26, with music and visual art meeting at the Underground of the Palazzo dei Priori together with M° David Eggert. The evening will conclude with non-stop musical happenings and performances in the now traditional setting of Happy Wine and Music.
The festival program still includes many other musical events together with outstanding artists on the national and international scene, such as Jacqueline Ross, Marco Fiorentini, Laura Pietrocini, Marta Rossi and Celeste Rosi.
In conclusion, I would like to thank everyone for their great support: the audience, guests, collaborators, institutions and staff. For this thirteenth edition, my hope is to transport you into a spell of sounds and images capable of bringing us all together through the indelible mark that only art is capable of representing.
