Domenico Orlando will be the teacher of the Oboe Masterclass from 12th to 17th August during the 7th International Masterclasses Narni 2017.
In 2001 he won the position as principal oboe at the Teatro Regio di Torino, where he remained until 2009. He is often invited by the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestra del Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, the Orchestra Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, Parma, the Orchestra da Camera del Maestro Salvatore Accardo, the London Symphony Orchestra, etc. This activity allows him to play regularly with important conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Myung-Whun Chung, Antonio Pappano, Daniel Harding, Kent Nagano, Salvatore Accardo, Daniel Oren, Gianluigi Gelmetti etc. In 2009 he won his current position as Solo Oboe in the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig, under Maestro Riccardo Chailly. Domenico Orlando takes Masterclasses in Italy, UK, Spain, and Japan.
