Born in 1966 he graduated with honors in 1985 under the guidance of Gerard Petruzziello at the Conservatory "V. Bellini" of Palermo. In 1985 he won the National Orchestra Competition at the Piccolo Teatro dell'Opera di Genova, where he worked for a year, and the role of First Flute at the National Band of the Guardia di Finanza in Rome, where he remained nearly three years during which he also performed solo concerts and made recordings for RAI. He has worked with numerous orchestras, and he has also been the winner of several competiton, including 2nd prize at the National Competition of Musical Performance "Boario Music 94" of Darfo, 1st Prize at the National Competition for Musical Performance on the Flute "G. In addition he has performed with the Bellini Ensemble, giving concerts throughout Italy and also tours abroad. At the same time he has also carried out an intense teaching activity with Masterclasses and annual summer courses as an assistant to Angelo Persichilli. In June 2003 and 2006 he was invited to give master- classes in Japan at the atelier of Pearl Flute and the Shobi Academy in Tokyo on behalf of the company of musical instruments Pearl Flute, Japan, for which he has offered testimonial since 2001. Since 1989 he has been First Flute soloist of the Orchestra of the Teatro Bellini in Catania. At the same time, for a three year period, he worked as a Principal Flute with the Orchestra of the Foundation of the National Academy of S. Cecilia in Rome. He is regularly invited to be a member of the juries for national and international competitions and festivals.
