Started his career with the victory at the prestigious International City of Alexandria Competition in 1987, followed 2 years later by the III prize at the International Radio France Competition in Paris, he has held concerts all over Europe, in the United States, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia. Although he has never abandoned the classical repertoire, he is today considered a reference for contemporary guitar music, in Italy and abroad. He has collaborated and collaborates with internationally renowned artists, from the guitarist Magnus Andersson, to the singer Michiko Hirayama, the contemporary music group Modus Novus of Madrid, the Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the pianist Bruno Canino. His seventh CD, BLU, contains songs dedicated to him and the first absolute of the complete recording of the piece by G. Scelsi Ko-Tha, for guitar treated as a percussion instrument, unanimously considered a piece at the top of instrumental virtuosity. In 2018 he recorded, for EMAVinci records, the Rosso Improvviso CD with music by Maderna, Pisati, Berio, Ginastera and the Ciaccona by J. S. Bach, in the version of the same guitarist. His interpretations and interviews are regularly broadcast by Radio RAI, Radio Vaticana and Filodiffusione; he has also recorded for Radio France, Radio Tunisina, Radio ex-Yugoslavia, WQED-FM (Pittsburgh, USA), the first RAI television channel, RADIO BLU, Radio Popolare and Radio Classica. For him composers such as M. Bortolotti, F. Razzi, A. Di Scipio, S. Tallini, Vescovo, F. Casti, M. Cardi, P. Esposito, D. Nicolau, F. Cavallone, L. Cinque, G.V. Cresta, M. Coen, M. D'Amico, S. Gacevich, M. Dall'Ongaro, O.J. Garcia, A. Amoroso, G. Boselli, M. Pisati, T. Marco, E. Cocco, M. Morgantini, F. Telli, S. Cardini, F. Maglia. The free improvisation led him to the creation of a stable duo of total improvisation with one of the myths of contemporary world music, the Japanese singer Michiko Hirayama with whom he held concerts for years. He has also held complete improvisation concerts with Eugenio Colombo, Antonio Iasevoli and Michele Rabbia. Since 2007 he is a guitar teacher at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, conservatory in which he created a high-level school, from which the most interesting Italian guitarists of the young generation came out. Moreover, he is regularly invited by Italian conservatories and foreign universities to hold seminars and concerts on the contemporary repertoire. He founded the II Level Master - Postgraduate Diploma of Interpretation of Contemporary Music at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, of which he was also coordinator as well as a teacher. In 2016 the XXI International Guitar Conference Città di Alessandria awarded him with the prestigious Golden Guitar for Teaching, the XXI International Guitar Conference Città d Alessandria 2016 decided to reward Arturo Tallini with the prestigious Golden Guitar for the Teaching "In homage to the prestigious professional activity carried out for years with profit, responsibility and commitment".
