Gabriele Croci was born in Rome, Italy in 1974. Graduated summa cum laude at the Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” in Rome and then at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Roma with Massimo Paris. He achieved the MasterKlass diplom at the Hochschüle für Musik in Würzburg (Germany) and pursued his studies with Bruno Giuranna and Yuri Bashmet, who awarded him the “Diploma di Merito” at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena. He studied String Quartet with members of the most important Quartets in the world (Amadeus, Alban Berg, Tokyo, La Salle and Italiano).

He won many International Competitions 1st Prizes (“Vittorio Veneto”, “V.Bucchi” and the International Chamber Music Comeptition “G.B.Viotti”).

As Principal Viola he was guest of the “Gran Teatro La Fenice” Orchestra in Venice, of the “Orchestra del Gran Teatro S. Carlo” in Naples and of the “G. Verdi” in Salerno. He was guest principal Viola of many other regional and State orchestras in Italy.

Gabriele Croci devoted the biggest part of his career in Chamber Music: he was member of the Quartetto Santa Cecilia and was former Viola of the Bernini Quartet with which he performed until 2004. During his already 25 years long career as a Chamber Musician, he performed together with  worldwide renown soloists such as Paul Katz, Franco Petracchi, Mario Brunello, Alain Meunier and Bruno Canino. With the Ensembles with which he worked he performed throughout United States, Europe, China, Middle East, and South America. Among the Festivals and the Theaters in which he performed as a soloist or in Chamber Music groups must be quoted the “Biennale” in Venice, the Goldsmith’s Hall in London, the “Festival de l’Epau” in Le Mans (France), the “Teatro Carlo Felice” in Genoa, the Bejing National Conservatory Hall (China), the “Teatro la Pergola” in Florence, the “Amici della Musica” of Vicenza, the “Teatro Coliseo” in Buenos Aires, the “Parco della Musica” of Rome, and the Muzik Gebouw in Amsterdam.

Since 2002 he is a Contemporary Music performer with specialized groups such as Algortimo Ensemble, PMCE and Prometeo Ensemble. As a specialized performer we worked with the most important composers worldwide.

He teaches Viola at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Turin. He also taught in many master classes of Viola and Chamber Music.

He performed many times in National and International Radio and Television Broadcasts. He recorded for Neos, Dynamic & Stradivarius. His recording of A. Schnittke’s “Monologue” for Viola and Strings (Dynamic) was reviewed in the most important music magazines (“Wonderful Viola tone throughout the whole extension” T.Potter, Strad Magazine).
