HORN
Born in Genoa in 1965, he graduated in 1984 with the highest mark at the Conservatory
"Niccolò Paganini" of Genoa with Professor Antonino Virtuoso.
He won many concourses (1st horn at Teatro “S. Carlo” in Naples, 1st horn and 2nd horn at RAI in Turin, 1st horn at Teatro “Carlo Felice” in Genoa) and auditions (Teatro La Scala in Milan, the Italian Youth Orchestra, Teatro “San Carlo” in Naples, etc.).
He was 1st horn in Teatro “San Carlo” of Naples (1984-86), in RAI of Turin (1987)
and the Teatro “Carlo Felice” in Genoa (1988-1997).
He usually collaborates as 1st horn with the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and with the
Filarmonica della Scala and he played in many international tours with these orchestras.
He collaborated as 1st horn with Orchestra “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, Suisse Romande Orchestra, Lucerna String Festival, Orchestre da Chambre di Lousanne, Mozart Orchestra of Bologna, OSI Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Orch. Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice, the Orch. Philharmonic "Arturo Toscanini" in Parma,
the Italian Youth Orchestra, RAI in Naples, the Solisti Veneti, Orch. da Camera di Mantova, Orch. Da Camera di Padova e del Veneto.
He plays also Natural horn, and important is the collaboration with the Le Cercle de l'Armonie Orchestra with M° Jérémie Rhorer.
He collaborated with the most important conductors: Abbado, Maazel, Muti, Prêtre,
Gergiev, Metha, Chung, Cats, Luisi, Bychkov, Chailly, Levine, Inbal, Oren, Sinopoli.
In chamber music he played for the most important italian musical institutions:
Unione Musicale of Turin, Settembre Musica of Turin, Stresa Festival, Società del
Quartetto, Società dei Concerti of Milan, Musica Riva, Amici della Musica of Trieste and of Florence, Genoa GOG, etc.
He is a member of Regi Corni (The horns of the Teatro Regio of Turin) and the Corni of the Teatro Alla Scala.
He even plays other musical genres: he was a member of the band of the great Paolo Conte playing with him for two seasons and participating in the recording of some of his CD including the last live of 2018.
Very important a new project with the LA FIL Orchestra of Milan under the direction of Maestro Daniele Gatti: all the Brahms and Schumann’s simphony. In particular, during the Brahms cycle he had the privilege of inaugurating the event by playing the Trio op. 40 with the great violinist Franz Peter Zimmermann and the great pianist Enrico Pace.
Invited by M°Daniele Gatti, he was the brass coach of the Italian Youth Orchestra in the summer of 2019
At the invitation of Maestro Gianandrea Noseda from 2019 he was the horn and brass coach of PCYO (Pan Caucasic Youth Orchestra).
He has been the 1st horn in the Orchestra of Teatro Regio in Turin since 1998 and he has tought horn at "G. Verdi ” Conservatory in Turin since 2000.
He was Horn Professor at "G.F.Gedini" Conservatory in Cuneo from 1992 to 1999.
He is still a teacher at Master in Pedagogy at CSI (Lugano Conservatory-SUI)
